Giving my site a domain name I already own
-
Good day –
I have built a website for Skyborne sailing. I would like to link it to a domain we already own and have paid for – skyborne.co.nz
Can you please let me know how I can do this? I understand the use of a WordPress site template is free, so I am reluctant to pay anything extra for a site domain that i already won and have already paid for. With thanks

Hello
If you already own a domain you have two options you can either connect or transfer:
1) If you have a domain name registered through another provider, but would like to move the registration of the domain name to WordPress.com.

2) If you already have a domain registered through another provider, and want to use WordPress.com to host your site without transferring the registration.

Let us know if you have any further queries.

Hi there,
You can use the domain connection upgrade included in all our paid plans to use that domain with your WordPress.com site.
.co.nz domains cannot be transferred to WordPress.com. Please make sure whether we support transfers for a particular domain before suggesting that as an option. From the support page you linked to above:
