Giving users the possiblity to store data to their account -more than just posts

    Hi everyone,
I’ve done weeks of searching now and also asked this question in the German support forums, but didn’t get any answers, so I’m trying it here.

I want to build a page with specific user journals, i.e. a menstrual cycle calendar, a housekeeping book, etc. So I want to give users the possibility to store different kinds of data within their user account.

I tried the plugin User Frontend and some others from this category, but all of them just work with posts, so I could give users the possibility to create posts of their own, but that’s just not enough for my purpose.

Form builder plugins, like i.e. Caldera Forms, are created to send mails using the data from user input, but there’s no possibility to just store the data within the user account, instead of sending an email.

To clarify what I need, I’ll give you an example:

I want to create a form where a user can fill in a textfield and choose values from some checkboxes, when clicking on submit, the form should create a post with an auto generated title (using the date) and store it to the user account, so the data can be displayed on a specific site created for the user.

Another example would be a form where the user just chooses values from checkboxes, that should also be stored in his user account, assigned to the date.

I have no idea how to implement this, maybe I’m thinking to complicated, or not complicated enough. Any help or ideas would be very appreciated, so thanks in advance. :-)

Note that about 30% of those who post here daily are posting to wrong support forum and the answers to wordpress.COM and WordPress.ORG support questions are not the same.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, run different theme versions of themes with the same names, and many people get confused about the two. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ as you could be posting to the wrong support forum.

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. We cannot provide support for sites that are not on our servers. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. That support is found at http://wordpress.ORG/support/
    (3) sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. That support is found at http://jetpack.com/support/

The wordpress.ORG support forums are at http://wordpress.org/support. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

If you are referring to a site hosted on wordpress.COM servers, then what is the URL starting with http:// of the site in question, please?

P.S. What you are describing can be done on a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting.

Yes, that’s what I’m using (paid hosting), so I’m very sorry for posting to the wrong forum. Thanks for clarifying this to me! :-)
