Glitch with updating my site

When I try to update the site to the latest WordPress version, and/or when I update the site plug-ins, it causes a glitch on the site where the Lodge’s name in red gets cut off and the homepage image carousel disappears from the website. I’ve attached a screenshot of this below.

I have asked the Tyrolean’s outsourced on how to fix this. His response is below:
‘To fix the glitch, I had to restore the site to 7/28 at 8:51 AM. If that’s a lot of work you lost, then you can do checkpoints, or backups, as you go to safeguard your work. But on the other hand, if you do too many backups you can exhaust the reservoir and overwrite the only good backup we might have. And that is a very costly mistake, so a balance must be struck.’

I am hoping that you can help me resolve this issue once and for all so that the Lodge is able to update the site freely without issues.

Additionally, I have spoken to Pierre about upgrading the WPEngine plan from a startup and he is on board. He will send confirmation via email once you and I connect.

I will be working on the site all day today so please let me know your thoughts on this as soon as possible!

    Thank you!

  • Hey there! These forums are actually for the sites hosted and managed by WordPress.com. I don’t see a link to your site, but it sounds like you’re using WP Engine?

I would recommend finding out whether it’s your theme or a plugin that’s creating the carousel, then contact that theme or plugin’s support to see if there’s an update or patch to make it compatible with WordPress current.

Then if you need more help, I’d recommend checking in with your hosting provider. Or, there is another set of forums for the free WordPress software:
