Gmail not working because domain expired

  Hello, My gmail email account has just stopped working because I didnt renew my domain name in time. I didnt realise they were linked and didnt want a blog anymore. I have just paid $99 to upgrade my blog but it didnt fix the domian problem. Are you able to tell me what to do from here or if i can have a gmail account without a wordpress site to keep the same email address.
