“go back” after editing
-
Hi!
I’ve been going back through my posts and editing them (for security/personal reasons) and adding tags/categories to them.
As I have nearly 5,000 posts it’s taking a while. For the first 2 years of posts that I edited, after I clicked “update” the page would re-load and a link would show up at the top which would take me back to the list of posts that I had been looking at.
When I went back to keep editing a couple of days ago that link no longer appeared and instead a link directing me to “view post” would appear.
I don’t know this was a change that WP made or if something changed, or what happened. But I was hoping to find out and to hopefully get that initial link to show up, it’s very helpful!
Thanks,
Kathy

We need a link to your blog, starting with http, in order to give appropriate answers. That applies even if it’s private: the URL alone can tell us things.

Thanks. I don’t know why the link disappeared from the top of the page, but if you look at the sidebar under Posts you should be able to get back where you were with one click. If not, clicking the Back arrow in your browser twice should do it. Hope that helps.

Yea, I’ve been clicking back twice, but that gets annoying. additionally, if I click back twice I have to re-load that page to see which post is the next that I need to edit
Thanks for the help!

I did some major editing a while back and I found it easiest to have the list of posts open, then I used “open in new window” to edit each post. Once that one was edited, I just closed the window, and opened the next in a new window…

Thanks for your suggestions! I appreciate it!
Although I would love to have that link back! :)
Anywhere else that I can ask about it?

You could try contacting support directly. We in the forums here are mostly volunteer fellow bloggers—staff looks in now and then, but not every thread.
