Go Daddy and Word Press Domain Renewal

  I have been using wordpress for the past year and also have a go daddy account connected to it– do I need to renew go daddy domain if I am now using wordpress only?

  My site is runningonom.com

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Yes, your domain’s are registered at GoDaddy and mapped at WordPress.com. For having them mapped at WordPress.com you pay for a domain mapping upgrade (which is part of your Premium upgrade). The registration upgrade at GoDaddy is separate.

  Does this mean that I do not need Go Daddy or one can not exist without the other? AKA should I keep my go daddy domain?

  Yes, you will need to keep your runningonom.com domain registered at GoDaddy. As far as I can see it doesn’t expire until July 2nd 2016.

  That is because I just renewed it with my credit card and after realized that I was unsure if that was necessary.
