GoDaddy and WordPress

    Hello,

I was having issues with my hosting. For the last few years, I’ve been using Adobe Muse to create my website – I want a redesign on the website, and was thinking of using WordPress, as I have quite a few clients using it and it sounds great.

However, I’m having a few issues with the domain/hosting plan. I’d like to upgrade to the Premium plan on WordPress, but I’d like to keep the same domain name that I’ve had for years (hsoundworks.co.uk). There’s an option to map my current Domain to this hosting plan, which is absolutely fine. However, I don’t want my old website to be temporarily shut down whilst I’m building my new one. Will this happen when I buy the Premium plan?

Also – if I do buy the premium plan with WordPress – will my account with GoDaddy be required anymore? Does the plan with WordPress include all hosting and domains?

    Many thanks!

  • Hi there,

No. You can build your site here on WordPress.com and use a free .wordpress.com address. When it’s ready you only have to point (map) the domain here.

if I do buy the premium plan with WordPress – will my account with GoDaddy be required anymore? Does the plan with WordPress include all hosting and domains?

You won’t need a hosting plan from GoDaddy, only the domain registration will be with them, so don’t cancel that.

All our plans include hosting and that’s why you don’t need a separate hosting plan with GoDaddy.

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
