Hi versionsgroup! What other steps have you taken? Have you read these instructions and purchased a domain mapping upgrade?
-
Domain helper indicates you have not set the name servers correctly

Hi lettergrade and auxclass
I did those part. even the ones in the video. but do i have to do anything on the custom dns?
-
to add some info:
Domain: versionsgroup.com
Domain Mapped to WordPress.comDNS is correct | Cancel
so it should work right?
-
something is not correct – I get sent to Godaddy parking – but the name servers on what my dns are showing correct http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/versionsgroup.com
What do you mean by “set dns” you should only need to set the name servers and buy domain mapping here for your site to work – doing any fancy dns settings or MX records etc are usually only needed for cusotm email
I will also flag this for the staff to help, they can see your upgrades I can’t

hi auxclass,
that is correct. dns is updated. but i think something is not going right in wordpress.
thanks for the help.

This is what Domain Helper here shows – normally you set the name servers and buy domain mapping and things start working after a few hours – also Domain Helper in that case normally has a caution about changes not having time to migrate across the internet – but I am seeing conflicting settings when I look on other tools – that is why I flagged this for the staff to review things –

Invalid Nameservers
Your domain is set up with the following name servers or their numeric equivalents:
NS66.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS65.DOMAINCONTROL.COMIn order for your domain name to work at WordPress.com, you should remove the above nameservers and add only the ones listed below.
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMNote: Removing nameservers can cause things like email or other custom setups to break. Please consult with your current hosting company or registrar before removing DNS entries.
There is information on how to set up domain mapping in our support documentation. If you need help after that, please contact our support team.

can you try again?

@versionsgroup your custom domain is working for me. versionsgroup.wordpress.com now shows at versionsgroup.com using the Forever theme.
DNS propagation is not instantaneous and usually the domain owner is the last to see it. Make sure to clear your browser cache.
-
Thanks Jen – I still get a parked page but Domain Helper now shows things set correctly but needing to wait for the changes to migrate to the far corners of the internet
-
Thanks all, that is correct, i see it is working now. Just working on the emails now, i think this is where the custom dns works
