GoDaddy domain to using WordPress Business Plan

  • Unknown's avatar

I have bought an envato theme but since I need a business plan to activate it, I would like to know the following:

    1) My domain is bought from GoDaddy and currently my host server is on Website-Welcome. Upon purchasing the Business plan, how can I avail WordPress hosting?

    2) I was able to figure out that I could point my domain to the wordpress site. But what should I be doing in wordpress to complete the process?

    3) What should come first? Purchasing the Business Plan or connecting the GoDaddy domain to WordPress?

    4) I had requested my client to create a professional email on Google (email address and password shared with me) and then use that address to sign up on WordPress. So that he can do the initial setting up. However, if I were to create a new personal email ID for managing his project, how easy would it be to transfer to a professional email address in the future?

    Hi there:

    1. You go to Upgrades -> Domains in your dashboard and add the domain as one you already own, and follow the steps there to change your DNS to point to WordPress.com. The price is included in your Business plan pricing.

    2. This should guide you through what to do next: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

    3. You wouldn’t be able to connect a domain without a plan, so you need to purchase the plan first.

    4. Can you give us more information here? Do both your client and yourself need access to the site? If so, your client would need to add you as an Administrator to the account then you would both have access and the ability to set up the site.

    I hope that clarifies things!
