GoDaddy domain -> WordPress.com domain
-
I purchased our domain name through GoDaddy before purchasing a plan with WordPress.com.
While I do have the domain forwarding to our wordpress.com site, I would like to have the address with no .wordpress.com ending.
How can I do that? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
For that, you’ll need to map your domain to your WordPress.com site. Since you have already upgraded to the Personal plan, the mapping option is included for free. Here’s how to configure it:

-
Thank you!
I mapped it to WordPress, but so far nothing has changed.
How long does it take? -
Did you update the name servers yet?
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#change-your-domains-name-serversIf you have, please allow about 6 hours for that change to take effect. Technically it can take up to three days, but usually it’s done well within 6. Sometimes restarting your computer can help (after you make the changes) so it will forget where it last looked for that domain, and look for it at the new location.

I’m not sure if I did that or not..
I do now notice under my domains it says ‘transfer in progress’.. maybe it just needs longer? -
Oh, if you transferred it instead, it may take a bit longer. Give it a few days.
Then when it’s finished, you’ll want to head to My Site > Domains, click on the domain, and choose to use WordPress.com name servers.

Ok, I think I did everything I need to.
I got an email saying it was successfully transferred.
I verified my contact info.
I transferred the name servers.
However, when I type in ‘hubcityhighlanders.com’, it just redirects to ‘hubcityhighlanders.wordpress.com’..
Will it eventually just be ‘hubcityhighlanders.com’? That was the whole point of transferring the domain to wordpress.. -
It looks like the domain is not your primary domain yet. To change that, go to My Site ->Domains and click the Change Primary button at the top. Once you do that, the site will start loading at your custom domain instead.
