Godaddy hosting

I am completely lost and confused on how to do this and am hoping someone can help me out.
I already purchased hosting and a web domain name on Godaddy. I purchased the hosting because of a template I bought on Etsy that requires the hosting to not be on WordPress.
I have everything set up..I installed the WordPress app on Godaddy but am not sure what happens next?
Does all of my content on WordPress need to be transferred over to Godaddy? Right now my domain name has nothing on it (www.ifyougiveagirlaring.com). Obviously I want my blog (ashleyericarich.wordpress.com) to show up on there.
Can anyone help me out? I keep getting a run around from Godaddy that makes me even more confused than I am!

You do indeed need to transfer your blog contents over to GoDaddy. Then set your blog here to Private. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
Once you’re up and running on the new site, you can get support from WordPress.ORG, which is the forum for your new software.

Thanks! Was godaddy a good choice to use? Or should I have used something else? They keep telling me different answers so I’m more confused than I was when I first started this process!

No, Godaddy is a very popular choice but I’ve never heard anything good about their service.

So do I need to switch my blog over to WordPress.org in order to host it on Godaddy? Or can what I have on wordpress.com be switched over?

WordPress.ORG does not host any blogs, they are the keepers of the WordPress software – they do have a list of recommended hosts:
