Hi,
I’m an admin/developer for the site. Their domain was through godaddy, but they originally had their hosting through you. I bought godaddy hosting and am trying to apply it to this site. What do I do? Change the DNS servers? What DNS info from godaddy do i use?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @rianabwright – If you want to use GoDaddy to host the site, then you are creating a self hosted website.
Self hosted websites use the installation of WordPress.
WordPress.com (here) is very different from WordPress.org (self hosted sites). Please read this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Here are the step by step instructions on moving a site from WordPress.com to WordPress.org: https://move.wordpress.com/

So, I installed wordpress and nothing has changed. They had an original domain name with godaddy, so i purchased the hosting with goDaddy as well, and installed wordpress, but I don’t think wordpress is registering that I changed the hosting. How do I change that?

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.
Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.me/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

The blog I need help with is rianabwright.wordpress.com.
- What is the domain URL?
- What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
- Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
- Did your client delete the underlying .wordpress.com URL? See: Deleting a site with upgrades https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/#deleting%C2%A0a-site-with-upgrades rather than Pointing a WordPress.com Domain to GoDaddy https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-name-servers/point-a-wordpress-com-domain-to-godaddy/?
If the answer is yes to that then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. Hello!
I’m a bit unclear about what you’d like to do. Is there a domain registered with us that you’d like to point to GoDaddy? If yes, you can follow the instructions here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-name-servers/point-a-wordpress-com-domain-to-godaddy/
Let me know if you meant something else. It would also help to know the address of the site you want to move. I can’t see any paid upgrades in the account you’re writing from now and there’s no content on this site – https://rianabwright.wordpress.com.
