Godaddy locked my domain name I just bought
-
Godaddy locked my domain name I bought from them. I now can’t use it with word press!
I already paid for word press, and word press won’t allow me to use a locked domain name!
I don’t want any other domain name other than the one I bought from those crooks Godaddy..

Its locked for another 2 weeks and when you buy a domain name from go daddy they lock it for 60 days apparently. Wow, how many clients have I lost because of a 60 day delay just so they can strong arm you into making a web site on a godaddy site!
Good PR Godaddy!

Everyone who buys a new domain anywhere at all is subject to that 60 day rule before the domain can be transferred elsewhere. That’s the rules. However there is nothing stopping you mapping the domain immediately. If you want to map your GoDaddy domain to a WordPress.com site you’ll need a paid plan here. (which you say you already have)
PS: If you had registered the domain here in the first place it would have been included free for the first year with a paid plan. -
This has nothing to do with GoDaddy of WordPress.com, it’s An ICAN rule “Registrars must impose a lock that will prevent any transfer to another registrar for sixty (60) days following a change to a registrant’s information. Registrars may (but are not required to) allow registrants to opt out of the 60-day lock prior to the change of registrant request”

themagicrobot and staartmees are correct, this is a rule imposed on all domain registrars by ICANN.
Until you’re able to transfer it, you can still use it with your WordPress.com site by mapping it: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
