Godaddy parked my domain – need to map to WP

  I own a domain, which is currently registered through godaddy. I did not renew my hosting with godaddy due to pricing, so they have parked my site and I cannot access it. I am hoping to transfer this domain to word press, but I want to make sure I know what I’m doing first.

  I’m assuming I need to inform godaddy to point to wp, but wouldn’t I then have to be renewed with godaddy for that to be possible? A clean break from them is what I’m after, just want my domain to come with me.

  I am rebuilding the site altogether, so there is no need for any of the data on the parked GD site. All I need is the domain name to get started on word press.

  Hoping someone has encountered this before. Forgive the ignorance! Thanks!

  Hi americandakota,

  Your domain and hosting should be managed separately on GoDaddy.

  Have you followed the instructions on the GoDaddy support article here?
