    What the difference between going with you directly or through godaddy?

    Both (WordPress.com and other hosting providers that use WordPress open-source software such as GoDaddy) can be great options for your website.  

    WordPress.org is an open-source project that provides WordPress software for free, so you can use it on your own hosting provider.  

    You are responsible for finding a host (Examples would be GoDaddy) and for security, backups, and site maintenance. There is no dedicated support for WordPress.org sites outside of the public community forums at WordPress.org/support/forums.  

    Currently, you are contacting WordPress.com, which is a managed hosting provider for WordPress software. Hosting and security are all included for free, as well as site maintenance and backups.  

    There is also dedicated 24/7 support for WordPress.com sites provided by community and forum staff via these forums, email, and LiveChat (with a paid plan).
