GoDaddy WordPress Plug in Problems
-
BACKGROUND:
I recently purchased my domain (via GoDaddy) and added a WP blog, here: shaunanicholson.com/blog
Before that, I had the (single) post on http://www.contentmarketing.wordpress.com, which houses the banner I need.MY PROBLEM:
I need to change the banner at my new url (shaunanicholson.com/blog), but it’s not letting me change the current theme; I believe that’s b/c it’s working on WordPress 2.3.3? Well, I’m not tech savvy enough to upgrade this apparently.POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS?
Re-routing the url by domain mapping from the contentmarketing.wordpress.com OR somehow getting it to house correctly under the GoDaddy install (which I’d prefer).Which do you suggest? I’m hoping to keep it all on the GoDaddy host–how can I achieve that? (I already understand domain mapping.)
THANK YOU!

If you can, keep the blog on the GoDaddy hosting. It’s a much steeper learning curve, but once you get used to it there are lots of advantages over the wp.com version.
You will, unfortunately, need to talk to the lovely folks over at http://www.wordpress.org to get support on your self hosted version.
Very quickly though – did you use the godaddy quick install? Do you know how to upload different themes? Both these questions will be asked by the .org crew so be prepared!
All the best
Collin
