GoDaddy -> WP domain issues
-
Hi,
Three days ago I bought a new domain irelandms.com on WordPress.com in case typos on my GoDaddy active domain name ireland-ms.com happen.
My new domain is active on WordPress, and I can open webpages in my blog itself and in Google.
When I google my GoDaddy domain name ireland-ms.com however, I get the “Welcome to ireland-ms.com. This Web page is parked FREE, courtesy of GoDaddy.com.”
My GoDaddy ireland-ms.com domain went from cancelled to active, but I get the above error. I added the 3 WordPress nameservers correctly but still… broken links. GD themselves say that the 72h waiting time does not apply as the domain was already visible before it being cancelled.
What I need so is for my GD ireland-ms.com domain traffic to be sent to irelandms.com on WordPress.com. So… please… Help…
I am hopeless when it comes to hosting/domains etc. :)
Thanks!
Willeke

Hi,
It sounds like you need to map your existing domain at GoDaddy to your new WordPress.com site.
This way when someone types in ireland-ms.com they’ll be taken to irelandms.com. Note you will need to make the DNS changes (step #2) at GoDaddy if that is where you purchased the ireland-ms.com domain.
Let me know if this is not what you were looking for.

It is what I am looking for.
I actually mapped ireland-ms.com in WordPress.com this morning, so I presume it might take some time before people are redirected? Or do I need to map it in GD.
Are these the correct nameserver settings?

NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMThanks for the quick reply!
