    HI all

Anyone know what changed with wordpress or google. None of my posts are being picked up any more. They used too???? I would like to get back on the radar with google again.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You really should have a link to your blog and not your main html site to make it easier for us to help you.

I count 39 Tags on one of your Posts and it looks like the same number on most of them. Google has probably tagged your site as a Tag Spammer – guidelines I have seen state – use no more than a max total combined 10 or 12 Tags and Categories.

The other thing I see on your blog is the repetition of text in the posts with the Rick Phelp videos. Search engines like to see new things: the videos may each be different, but search engines can read them.

oh great thanks that helps! I understand the tags. I’m not sure what you meanby the html site???
Can you clarify for me please?
    Thanks

    typo alert:
“but search engines can’t read them”

1tess I don’t have a clue what you mean? plese clarify thankyou

    Your blog is http://alzheimersspeaks.wordpress.com/
but the link to your name is not a wordpress.com site: we volunteers need links to the blog you ask about—it takes extra time to search for you.

The text on many of your posts is the same, over and over:

Rick has been diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease EOAD. I will post these videos as I get them from Rick. If you are interested in truly understanding what it is like to have Alzheimer’s or are caring for someone with the disease, I believe these video logs will change your life in a positive fashion.

Please don’t forget to check out Rick’s newly launched website:

    Living with Alzheimer’s 2011
    etc………

I was wondering if it was the rick phelps videos. It just makes it so much easier for people to get basic info. Any suggestions? Should I just try to send them to a link?
    Thanks for all your help!

Go ahead and link to his site in each post, but I’d suggest writing a brief synopsis of what is in each video for the post itself. You could have a page with your currently repeated text: it’s static information and that is what pages are for. Or use a text widget in your sidebar with the explanation.

It’s an interesting site. My father recently died in the late stages of Alzhieimer’s…

Thank you 1tess this is really helpful. I’m int he process of starting another blog and website called Caregiver Campus so all this info is great to know. Where do you find the google criteria? Sorry to here about your Dad. My mom has been in her end stages 3 years now…. it’s an intersting disease to say the least!

It’s a whole different world for the person traveling through the condition. It was easier for my husband to help with care because he could see him without the overlay of memories I had of him from childhood. Not that it’s easy for anyone…

Anyway, Google has a “Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide” but because WordPress.com automatically takes care of a lot of the things on their list it might not be very helpful. Read these forums about attracting more readers and you’ll realize that writing good fresh original content and using tags/categories properly is the best way to grow your blog.
