Going Business, does that include..

    Dear Person,

Here’s my question, it says that if I go with the Business bundle, that there won’t be anymore advertisements displayed.
I’m not really sure what that means, because I never see ads on any other sites, etc., so I’m not sure people see ads when they visit my site.
Anyway, my question is, so if there aren’t any ads displayed anymore, could I still allow ad agencies to display there stuff on here, with me reaping in all the profits?
Or how’s it work? Will I have to share my profits with you, even though I might’ve gone with the Business bundle?
Please answer this a.s.a.p., because I’m thinking of buying my own domain name and just creating my own website, that way I can reap in all the profits from ad agencies who’d wanna be, well, you know, place ads on my site.

    :)

    Thank you.

    M.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The answer is “no”. There is no upgrade you can purchase that allows blogger initiated advertising on any free hosted WordPress.com blog. if you want to monetize a blog hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Choose a plan: Choose between basic, premium, and business, ranging from $0 to $299. Note that none of the plans allow you to upload your own themes or plugins. If you need a site that requires a custom theme or plugins — e.g., if you want to be able to sell things directly from your site, or you want to install discussion forums , or you want to monetize a blog — a self-hosted WordPress site might be right for you.

That’s what I mean, though, timethief: I’m considering buying the business bundle for $300 per year, so that I can make money off my blog.

In other words, you’re saying that once I get the $300/year bundle, I’ll be able to have ad agencies post their ads on there, and I’ll cash in, correct?

No. That is NOT what I said.

O.K., so it’s not the freebie-one, and it’s also not the business one.. so I guess it’s the $99/year that you mean when you say: “a self-hosted WordPress site, that might be right for me,” right?

    :)

No that is not what I said. None of these bundles http://en.support.wordpress.com/bundles/ provide what you ask for.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate site with different username accounts and logins.

You have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install http://wordpress.org/

The “Business” part of the “Business Bundle” does not refer to the business of making money from posting ads. If that is what you want to do, you need to buy hosting from somewhere, usually at $15 and up per month, and then install software from WordPress.ORG. Then you blog for several months, then you apply to ad companies like Adsense and so on and wait to be approved. Then they either approve you, in which case they give you ad code, or they don’t. I don’t know any ad companies that will give ads to a blog that isn’t at least a few months old.

Ahhhhhhh, now it’s all starting to make a lot more sense, Misses Timethief.

    Sukran.

    @sukran
I’m happy to know you did understand me. Best wishes.

    Took me a while, eh?
But seems I finally got it.
So I checked all three of the ones on there out, any recommendations?
It’s the BlueHost I gotta go with, right?
I feel like that’s the right one.
I think I’ma go with that one.

    Thanks again.

    Bye-bye.

I hear they are good but I have never used them. I have used A Small Orange and I liked their hosting plans and their support service very much.
    Best wishes to you. :)
