You are confusing wordpress.ORG software installs and wordpress.COM blogs like this one http://annfrancis79.wordpress.com/
This is the only Goodreads widget we can use http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/goodreads-widget/ The only Goodreads widget we can use on WordPress.com blogs is the one you enabled. We cannot use the other Goodreads reading challenges widget as it is JavaScript. https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/If this is a deal-breaker for you, you can move to self-hosting a wordpress.ORG software install. This guide will explain how to move your WordPress.com site to another hosting platform: Moving to a Self-Hosted WordPress Site https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-to-a-self-hosted-wordpress-site/
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

Ahhhhhhh, I see, that makes perfect sense. I co-blog with another person so I will run it by them and see what we decide from there.
