Goodreads Widget

  I am trying to add my Goodreads author shelf to the site. I added the widget and my author ID (2918303) but it just says ‘This Goodreads widget is not correct.’ If I follow the link, all I can do is edit my author profile. I can’t figure out what to do to correct this.

  Hi!

  I had the same problem and asked Goodreads support.

  Try to go to one of your shelves (not your profile page), and the link will look something like this:

  https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/xxxxxxx-name-surname

  Where “xxxxx” is a different number than the one for your author ID. Try this number.

  It worked for me :-)

  Thank you. That was good advice and it solved my problem. Then it gave me a new one: if I set my bookshelf to “Currently Reading” the widget displays the books on that shelf. If I set it to “Read” it simply won’t. Ideas?

  And furthermore, I put two books in my “Currently Reading Shelf” The widget displayed them. Now, no matter what I do to that shelf, the widget will display only those two books. Removing the books or adding others will not change what the widget displays. I removed the widget and then re-added it, and the same two books showed up. No idea what to think, here.
