Goodreads widget Author ID not working
-
Hi folks,
An update on this – we’ve made a change to the widget and it should work now.
If you have an author profile you’ll still need to use your user ID rather than your Author id. I’ve made a short video on how to find that here:
https://cloudup.com/cW-b6vi1Hsv
If anyone still has trouble finding that ID, please reply with your Author profile link, and I’d be happy to help you find it.

Seems to be working now.
I’ve found another way to find your member profile number that works for me. Go to the Home page on goodreads. On the left side of the screen you’ll see your Currently Reading list. At the bottom of that list it says See More. Click that and it will say See All Books. Right click on that, Copy the link location and paste that into the address bar or Notepad. Your profile number will be right in the middle of the line.

Of course, the easiest way to get that number is to click on My Books. Look in the address bar and your number will be right there.

I’m an author, and I don’t have a follow button under my profile pic. I get this id,
7728865
but it’s obviously not mineI frankly give up. (And don’t mind my frustration, it’s with Goodreads, not with you, WordPress!)

@silviacachia can you please give me a link to your Author profile on GoodReads? Then I can take a look for you.
-
Will you? That’s so sweet,

I hope the link works.

Silvia, instead of clicking on the Follow button, just click on the My Books button on the top goodreads menu. Your number will be right in the middle of the address at the top of your browser window when My Books opens.

FINALLY!
Even though only the first 5 titles in my currently reading shelf show, this is a huge accomplishment.
Thanks for reiterating this step, I kept going to the author page to try to retrieve my goodreads ID, but it was in this other place.
Thanks a lot for your help.
