Goodreads Widget (date added vs date read)

Your handy-dandy new sidebar widget will now show the five most recent books ordered by date added to your account. Any time you make changes to the shelf you’ve specified at Goodreads.com, the change will show up automatically in the widget.

This is a request to change the default setting of the Goodreads widget from date added to date read. A common use case for Goodreads users is to capture books in a list prior to reading them.

In the case where a reader marks a book as read that was added at a previous date, the book will never show up in the top 5 books recently read because the default configuration is for date added. In Goodreads, date added is not an editable field when editing a book shelf entry.

I’m not aware this is a user-configured setting… another solution is to allow the user to choose from another shelf so that the Goodreads user can create a shelf they want displayed through the widget.

    Thanks,
    Chris
