Goodreads Widget Problems
-
I installed the Goodreads widget as per the instructions, but all I get is the Goodreads logo showing up on my blog linking to my Goodreads account, but no listing for what I’m currently reading, which is what I set it to.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you were setting up the Goodreads widget, did you insert your Goodreads account ID? The ID is not the entire address of your profile page; it’s just the numbers found in that URL.
-
Yep, just the number. I even tried logging in with a different account, since it’s a Goodreads author account, and using the “friend” button to make sure the numbers were the same and they were.

The WordPress Goodreads widget help page says to do this: “Your author ID may not match your user id. If you enter the id as retrieved above and it doesn’t display your bookshelf, you’ll need to fetch your ID from your public author page. You may need to log out of GoodReads first (or have a friend help you). Visit your author page, and then hover over or click the “add as a friend” or “send message” link on the left under your author photo.”
Which is what I did still with no luck.

Could you send me a link to your Good Reads account? I was able to get the widget on your page to connect to other Good Reads accounts, so I suspect it’s a matter of finding the right number.

Here’s the account link: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/5447538.Alex_C_Telander
Thanks for the help!

I’m not totally clear on which id number is the author number and which is the user number. In any case, you other number worked. I made the change and It’s working now. Let me know if you continue to have trouble.

Thank you so much. I must’ve been missing where the ID numbers were different. The help and fix is greatly appreciated!
