When anyone puts the name of my club in Google the WordPress website I have just built does not show,
can anyone please tell me why my new site is not showing in a Google Search?

You have next to no content at this point in time.
It takes weeks for search engines to index content. What attracts search engines is unique content the cannot in posts that cannot be found anywhere else on the internet. Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.

Then your site will never show up in Google, the site has NO content – it take 4 to 6 weeks for search engines to index a new site and that is only if you have content worth indexing, you have nothing on your site
You need to put some Posts up so search engines have a reason to index your site
