Hello there!
Search engines can take 4-6 weeks or more to show any newly created sites.
While not necessary to be included in Google’s index, connecting your site to Google’s Search Console (https://wordpress.com/support/site-verification-services/#google-search-console) can help Google include your site more quickly. To know more about SEO please refer to this support page doc here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/seo/

Hi there,
Your site doesn’t appear to be indexed at all, based on this:
https://www.google.co.za/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fsimonyoungblog.wordpress.com%2F
But it’s definitely public, you’ve been posting regularly since June, and your site’s
robots.txtfile at https://simonyoungblog.wordpress.com/robots.txt and sitemap at https://simonyoungblog.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml appear fine to me, so from everything I can see, it definitely should be indexed. Can you please try two things for me:
1) Go to Settings ->General and set your site to private. Give it a few minutes, then set back to public.
2) Please verify your site with Google Search Console, and once you’ve done that, manually submit your sitemap in that tool. Normally this isn’t necessary for a site to be indexed, but in this case hopefully it will “knock something loose”, as it were.

Your site won’t start appearing in search results immediately once you do this, as it still needs to be indexed, but hopefully it will do the trick.
