Nice… real nice.
What’s your day job, Customer Relations?

Marc your kind of communication brings out the pink witch in me, if you know what I mean. I don’t have either a day job or night job in customer relations but I can rock your socks fella so please be civil [in other words don’t tempt me].

so I think you should appreciate that as it says in the FAQ we do not want this site to turn into some sort of adfest where people pimp the forums even more just to get traffic just to get clicks. We don’t want people yelling that they want better placement, different ad sizes, conditional displays. We don’t want them complaining that they want another companies ads. We don’t want them complaining that all they get as ads for blogs. We don’t want people setting up masses of blogs purely to generate an income (“Please can you make it so when I post to one blog it auto posts that to my other 41 …”).This site, believe it or not, is for blogging.
Saying what you do elsewhere with wordpress software gets you precisely nowhere – in fact it may even take you back a step.
And in case you hadn’t taken marc’s hint – be polite around here please.
(And never assume anything about me or anyone else.)

Javascripts are also hackable and not currently allowed for security concerns. I, for one, would rather have a blog here knowing that it’s up and running.

I apologize to marc. I’m so sorry I misunderstood the fact that you were delivering a hint to the name caller to back off. The name calling triggered me so strongly I was immediately ready to ride my pink power broom.
Thanks to podz who gave us all a good summary of what wordpress is about and what it isn’t about. Thanks to drmike for clarifying that the reason there’s no javascript allowed is to maintain security. At this juncture I would like to suggest that the information podz and drmike provided be wrapped into a neat little package and posted in FAQ.
On May 17th a well respected fellow blogger wrote part 1 of the story of his adventure with adsense. The title is: The Adsense Trap and it is from the online home of Andreas Viklund, a 26-year old web designer from Jokkmokk, northern Sweden. I think that part 2 of his adsense trap story will be as facinating as part i was. http://andreasviklund.com/blog/general/the-adsense-trap/ -

This is the one bad thing about WordPress. The ability to add Adsense is a must have and yes I do run a blog through WordPress that is just affiliate links and specials:)
-
m2r – did you read the FAQ posting that podz linked to in the second post?
There is another consideration in that in the Adsense ToS it specifically says that you must OWN the site where you are displaying the ads. As you don’t own the wp.com server/blog/site then you’d be breaking the ToS by doing so.
Yes, I know that Blogger and the other allow it and I don’t know how they get away with it. They MAY have an arrangement (read – paid Google money…) with Google to allow it.
-
So, Movie2Review thinks security is a bad idea. Okay…
Um, actually Google paid Blogger. It’s one of the companies that they picked up with their petty cash fund. :)

You didn’t think every single Blogger Blog has a link to Google just for the heck of it, now did you? :)
-
No, and when I signed up yesterday (purely for research purposes following the pcw.com article) I noticed that by default the new blogger account is offered adsense.
