Google Adsense.
-
Right, so, I’ve seen/searched a fair few posts about google adsense but I really just need clarification here.
If I pay for a premium, or even business model site, will I be able to add Google Adsense script to widgets and stuff.
I’ve been searching around and everything I’ve found seems really complicated and unnecessary and I’m pretty adept with computing.
End of the day though, I just want to be able to host ads on my site.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This question has been ask and answered many times in the forum

NO!!!
If you have a custom domain name you can apply for the WordAds revenue sharing program here with WordPress.COM – you also need good traffic to be accepted into the program
Other than that you can’t sell your own ads or have third party ads on your site – your site will be suspended – no advance notice required

Hey, thanks for answering! Yeah, I know it’s been answered before but I’ve seen videos saying otherwise and wasn’t 100% sure!
So, I’d need to spend the £15, and have around 50,000-100,000 views per year to be accepted… And I will automatically get paid without doing anything else or is there another step to it?
Thanks again for responding so fast!

Also, if I were to host my blog over on godaddy, fore example, would I be able to add my google adsense ads on there?
-
If you move to another host like Blue Host etc. you can put your own ads on, Adsense etc. – The WordAds program does require a PayPal account for the money to be transferred to – once accepted there is nothing else to do as near as I can tell
-
Ok, thanks! So… The way this works… My blog is hosted on wordpress, I might have used to them to build the blog but The blog itself is just another site and not actually WordPress’ own. I’m using them to host my website and so have to abide by their rules? Is that correct?
New to actually building a website and fairly new to wordpress. So I’d like to be certain! :)

re: wordpress.com hosted blogs and advertising
No blogger initiated advertising for driving traffic to third party sites is allowed here on wordpress.COM hosted blogs. PPC is not allowed. Affiliate marketing banners and any and all advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com are not allowed.
The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.

re: affiliate links on wordpress.COM hosted blogs
http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/We can use text links only. http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/
1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.
2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.
Here’s what gets a blog suspended:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/suspended-blogs/
http://en.wordpress.com/tos/There is no upgrade that changes what I posted above. All blogs hosted by wordpress.COM must comply with the Terms of Service.
-
As long as you are on WordPress.COM servers you need to abide by their Terms of Service – does not matter what your domain name is – it’s the WordPress.COM servers
If you move to another host they will have their own terms of service that you will also need to abide by
Good luck

Hello, I am new to this and I kind of have the same question as goldenguyz.
I have my domain hosted here at wordpress.com.
If I point my domain to godaddy having hosting there, would I be able to post ads from google adsense on my page?
Thank you for your help. -
@pautips7 – if you have a custom domain name registered with WordPress.COM but your blog is located on another host – say Blue Host then you need to abide by the Blue Host terms of service for hosting and not the WordPress.COM hosting guidelines – so yes if you were on say Blue Host – you can put adsense on your site – not however that you do need a lot of traffic to have any real income and even buy you a beer

Hey all,
this question has been asked so many times, but I’m just still so confused.
So i have posted my adsense code to the text box in widgets, but nothing has changed on the actual site. Attached is what the problem is. On the bottom of the page you can see the codes but there are no ads in it. I warn you I am an absolute beginner.
this is the problem: http://thisdesignblog.com -
