Google Alert for my blog has stopped

  I have had a google alert for “personal historian” that alerts me not only to my posts but to other personal historian activity. In the past couple of days my posts haven’t shown up on google alert. Any idea what’s happening?

  Two cents:

  I had the similar problem a long while ago. When I started blogging at wordpress.com, I used to get my own posts via Google Alerts along with other relevant links. But then one day all of a sudden I stopped getting references to my blog from search engine. It was an indication that either Google isn’t indexing my blog anymore or something has gone wrong somewhere.

  I will have to give you good luck for getting a help from Google. The support here at wordpress helped a bit but eventually I waited this issue out. It probably took few weeks but eventually things got resolved some how.

  I recommend you narrow down the alert keyword to test if your blog is showing up on search engines or not. Search Google Blog [http://blogsearch.google.com] and see if your blog posts are there (past and present). You will have to troubleshoot this issue to get some clues.

  Yes, Google has definitely changed something recently and it’s hurting all of us. See this thread:

  And in my experience you might as well print your email on a Tibetan Prayer Flag as send it in to Google customer support. It has the same chance of bringing about change. Alas.

  I was searching this problem, my blog is on Blogger, and ran across this post. Last week I got 3 posts in Google Alerts. Before then no thing. Now I’m back to nothing. I posted today, a few hours ago, and nothing.

  I’m wondering why some blogs that mention my keyword are picked up, but most of the entries are not of substance. But mine, a whole post about the subject gets nothing.

  I think Google sucks!
