  I am attempting to install google analytics on my blog. I understand that I need a plugin to do so, yet there is no plugin button on my dashboard. Very frustrating. please assist

  WordPress.com does not currently support Google Analytics tracking. However, we do offer built-in statistics showing you most of the same types of information as Google Analytics would display.

  You can view your site’s stats by clicking the stats link in the grey admin bar at the top of your site. To find out more about how stats are measured and reported, see the following help page:

  You can also install Google Webmaster Tools, which contains some of the same functions as Google Analytics:
