  Where do I paste the google analytics code if I want to track my wp blog?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins like Google Analytics on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. If you want that then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.

  There is no upgrade you can buy that changes that reality. For Google Analytics you need a WordPress.ORG install. Here’s the comparison http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  Thanks – I’m not much of a tecchie so not too sure what FTP access is, but I guess the gist is I can’t paste the code anywhere. Thanks again, much appreciated.

  That’s right. You cannot use Google Analytics on any WordPress.com hosted blog. The software will strip the code out.

  Don’t worry @timethief @msnatalieshaw. I also faced this problem, but have found a solution to it.

  All you need is just a custom domain.

  Excuse me but we have known about the cloudflare workaround for google analytics on wordpress.com blogs since 2011 and we do not provide support for it.
