Google Analytics
-
I currently have a WordPress blog from a few months ago as well as a more active blog on ChicagoNow which uses an old edition of WordPress. I am considering leaving ChicagoNow and concentrating on my blog here. The one thing I like about the ChicagoNow set up is that Google Analytics there gives a live view of a map with dots indicating every cite where there is current activity for the blog.
Is that available here? If so, how do I get it?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

See Google Analytics for WordPress.com Business sites http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2015/01/29/google-analytics-for-wordpress-com-business-sites/ There is no alternative when it comes to wordpress.COM hosted blogs. You either purchase the Business upgrade http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/ for $299 US per year or you don’t have access to Google Analytics.
See here https://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/ for eCommerce details re: the Business Plan

supernovia
we generate a map of views based on country rather than by city
Thanks for posting to clarify that.

you can also use a plain html version of Cluster maps to display dots of cities and such – not much for stats – but they have improved things the last year or so and they do have a paid upgrade that gives a bit more info but I forget exactly what extra info is included – I use Cluster Maps on the site linked to my name – I use the free version
