Google analytics?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I set up Google Analytics (the plugin) on my domain (which uses WordPress). I also wanted to use Google Analytics on my travel blog — am I correct that this is not possible? I’m also very confused about what you’ve done that has linked my personal and professional accounts together, so any clarification on that would also be helpful. Thank you very much.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    mollyshewrote.org is hosted by Choopa

    ns1.reclaimhosting.com

You are posting to the wrong support forum. That site is not hosted by wordpress.com and we cannot help you.

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.

Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.me/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.

Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/

Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack

However, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

There is no alternative when it comes to wordpress.COM hosted blogs. You either purchase the Business upgrade for $299 US per year or you don’t have access to Google Analytics. http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2015/01/29/google-analytics-for-wordpress-com-business-sites/

I believe you are confusing wordpress.com hosted sites and wordpress.org software installs on paid hosting.

Thanks for your help — I absolutely did not need help with mollyshewrote.org, I did NOT add that information to this posting and I am not sure why it appears there.

It also seems that these login accounts are NOT completely separate, as the .org site prompts me to login using my .com credentials, and I can flip between the admin on those two accounts simultaneously.

As for the difference between wordpress .org and .com, I appreciate the clarification.

  • Hi @mollyshewrote, sorry for the confusion. You can use the WordPress.com interface to manage multiple sites, whether they are hosted with us or not. Basically you probably:

    – logged into the WordPress.org site
    – connect it to your WordPress.com account via Jetpack

So now you can manage the .org installation here or at your own /wp-admin .

Let us know if you have more questions. :)
