    The ‘information help’ states: ‘However, this is not required because WordPress.com provides you with a setting to paste your tag/measurement ID. Copy just the tag ID as shown above, then move on to the next section in this guide.’

    However, there seems to be a requirement for me to acquire a Premium Plan in order for me to add my uniqued Measurement ID.

  • Hi, that’s correct – Google Analytics can be added to websites on WordPress.com that are using the Premium, Business, or eCommerce plans. There’s more about that here:

    The Premium plan does have a few other features too that you may find useful, including Live Chat support 24 hrs Mon-Fri, increased storage space, and as with all our plans it includes the offer of a free domain in the first year of the plan so that you could have a site address which doesn’t show the “.wordpress.com” part.
