Google Analytics

I want to use Google analytics…to track the visits to my blog. I’m not sure where to place the tracking code required to do this. I’m thinking i should place it in the “index.php” file. Now do i put it in the “index.php” of the root folder of my website or the “index.php” of the Theme I’m using?

    Thanks for any input.

Best bet would be to ask in the forums for blogs not hosted here at wordpress.com as this is only for those blogs and not ‘other hosted’.

Thanks…I got the answer at the other “wordpress”. These -wordpresses- confuse the hell out of me because I get the stats for my blog from wordpress.com. I see .org and .com all over when I log in to admin my blog. I feel so unwanted.

    Thanks though

Don’t! The close domain names throw people off, but this is for blogs hosted here, API key for stats and akismet and wordpress.org is for everything else!
