Google Analytics by Yoast
-
it’s better maintained than the current Google Analytics plugin supported by WordPress Enterprise. For example here 2 important features of the Yoast Analytics plugin, that the current one you’re using doesn’t have:
– Support for Universal Analytics
– Subdomain trackingThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read:
http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/seo-on-wordpress-com/
http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/04/11/seo-and-your-blog/There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins and or any third party themes. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.

@timethief: I never mentioned anything about SEO, I was talking about a plugin that controls Google Analytics, and I know the difference between a WordPress.com and a WordPress.org site.
I thought this is a forum where people can request plugins to be included in for WordPress.com premium sites (I read that here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/#plugin-requests)
-
Ignore Timethief, doesn’t know what they are talking about… Obviously posting in lots of support topics and not reading the topics properly.
I agree that Yoast’s works a lot better. There was one on WPMU Dev designed just for multisite which was also really good, as it showed top posts and pages automatically without having to set it up custom on Analytics.
I hope that the WordPress.com version will allow the new tracking type soon, because it is required for the demographics and other features to function correctly, giving us the stats we need to offer our potential advertisers.
Timethief, if you are going to offer support, please at least read the thread first.

Yes, of course, you can make this request here and indeed any request for any plugins. However, based on my over 8 years of answering questions here (I predate almost every support staff member being on staff and I predate the support docs) I don’t think you will be successful. -
I applaud your hard work over the past 8 years. I hope you are getting paid for it.
But on a side note, The new Analytics type of Universal was only launched earlier this year (April), and soon Google will require that all sites that use Analytics will need to use their new updated tracking code, although this will be quite some time. They will continue to limit the functions available with the old code, ie Demographics, Actions and planning etc. So actually, it is very likely that this will be successful as WordPress will have to if they wish to keep using Google Analytics at all.

@timethief: what’s the point of having a request forum if they all get rejected? Unless you think there’s some valid reason not to have this plugin in the WordPress.com premium package…
-
Hi there,
I did not say the suggestions made here all get rejected and putting words in someone else’s mouth is never a good idea. I shared my opinion here (ie. in a free speech environment on a peer support forum) based on my own experience and that’s allowed. I shared my opinion because I didn’t want you to be waiting with baited breath. Sometimes that happens here. Sometimes blogger think Staff will act immediately on what they suggest but that’s not what happens as you can see by searching https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas
