  No, Google Analytics cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info

  There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

  There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins and or any third party themes.
  If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.

  Is there any intention of bringing in a google analytics plugin for wordpress.com bloggers any time soon?

  It seems it would benefit everybody, with the use of AdWord, both wordpress and the blogger are making money. If bloggers are in a better position to analyse what’s working and getting the most views at what times, where in the world etc etc and make changes to become more successful, then everybody wins.

  Just seems to make sense.

  Nobody knows who will say. Believe me, it has been requested thousands upon thousands of times.

  Also, trust me, WordAds is NO way to make money. I’ve been signed up since the start and have been paid about $60. My blog has had 4.7 million hits.
