Google Analytics not available – this sucks!

  • Unknown's avatar

I just realised that I cannot install google analytics in my wordpress.com-blog.

I thought first, this cannot be. I mean, I pay $99 per year for such a crap software which cannot even install google analytics?

    This is absolute bullshit, man!
And I will tell everybody I’ll ever meet not even to think about using wordpress.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First, consider https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/you-can-run-google-analytics-on-a-wordpresscom-blog-heres-how?replies=1. CloudFlare is free, and they can add Analytics as they reverse-proxy your site. That also can speed things up and add some security.

Second, every consider asking politely before you just go off on a rant and start calling things “crap?” No?

If only there was some way you could have discovered the problem in advance. Like using a search engine. Hmm.

    hi jeepdon,

    first thanks for the link.

About discovering this problem in advance: Actually it’s probably my fault, because I just could not imagine, that wordpress.com would have a problem with those basic things like Google Analytics (esp. as I used it many years ago and it worked – probably it was wordpress.org).

I also quickly checked before writing here, if there is an solution and only found:
    “Can I use Google Analytics?
No, Google Analytics cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time.” (source: http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/)
At this point I stopped searching, which is, maybe, understandable.

If I follow your argumentation, than maybe, if I buy my next car, I probably should check also in advance, if I can put different tires on it or only the one brand which the manufacturer allows.

And listen, we are not talking about something free of charge.

I know, many people accept poor quality and keep silent instead of telling that they are pissed off by poor service. But that is nothing they can be proud of.
