Google Analytics Plugin

    My google analytics is installed and says it’s activated, but when I go to the google analytics page, there is no data.

    I talked to Google Analytics support staff and they said “Okay, so i can see that you techincally have 2 codes implemented on your site, one of which is, ‘UA-0000000-0” which is not a real code and will not report. And the other is UA-12964573-5 which is currently giving me a notification of “non-standard implementation”
    With non-standard implementation you can have reporting discrepancies and errors”

    They said that I should contact WordPress staff to see if there is something else that would need to be done for the plugin to report properly.

    Note we cannot install Google Analytics on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. There is no upgrade here aside from your blog being accepted into VIP hosting that allows you to run Google Analytics.

    This is a multi-user blogging platform. Our blogs share a common architecture. We bloggers cannot access metadata on free hosted WordPress.com blogs and install any tracking code, we have no FTP access and we cannot install any plugins.

    FTP access, and plugins are available only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    You will need to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set you your own WordPress.org software install to install any plugins.

    You are posting to the wrong support forum and reading the wrong support documentation. We do not provide support at WordPress.COM for any installs of WordPress.ORG software. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs being hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names.

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
