    1. where can i paste my google analytics tracking code? It says i should paste it into every page I want to track.

    2. My menu is having a problem. “home” is not really the homepage, it goes to some other “home” that is blank. see http://www.musicaltheateru.com to see what I mean.

    3. With the recent posts widget in the sidebar, is there a way to have a small image populate with the recent post title? I see this on a lot of blogs and it looks really good.

    thanks,

    Hi there Erin!

    1. where can i paste my google analytics tracking code? It says i should paste it into every page I want to track.

WordPress.com does not currently support Google Analytics tracking. However, we do offer built-in statistics showing you most of the same types of information as Google Analytics would display.

You can view your site’s stats by clicking the stats link in the grey admin bar at the top of your site. To find out more about how stats are measured and reported, see the following help page:

    Jetpack Stats

You can also install Google Webmaster Tools, which contains some of the same functions as Google Analytics:

    2. My menu is having a problem. “home” is not really the homepage, it goes to some other “home” that is blank. see http://www.musicaltheateru.com to see what I mean.

I see what’s happened. You’ve added your Home page to the menu, but your Home page isn’t filled with content yet. It doesn’t seem as if you need to link to a static Home page at all, as you’ve chosen to display your posts on the front page.

Here’s how this can be fixed:

    1. Go to Appearance → Menus.
    2. Click on the little down arrow next to the word “Page” in your Home menu item.
    3. Then, click remove so Home disappears from the list.
    4. Now, click Links in the left hand menu. When you do, you’ll see this:

    5. Where you see URL, you’ll paste http://musicaltheateru.com/
    6. Where you see Link Text, you’ll type Home
    7. Then click Add to Menu.
    8. Drag and drop the Home menu item to the top of the list. Then click Save Menu.

That should do the trick! Let me know how it works out for you.

    3. With the recent posts widget in the sidebar, is there a way to have a small image populate with the recent post title? I see this on a lot of blogs and it looks really good.

No, sorry, that isn’t a function included in this widget. I have a little work-around you might like, though. Instead of using the Recent Posts widget, you will replace that with the Display WordPress Posts widget. Usually this widget is used to display posts from outside sites, but you can use it for your own site. Just add http://musicaltheateru.wordpress.com into the widget box, and opt to display Featured Images. Then, save the widget.

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!
