Google Analytics – Where to put tracking code?
-
Hi guys,
I’m trying to use google Analytics to track my blog and i just can’t find a place to put the tracking code.
I’m using the Vigilance Theme.
Any one knows how to do it?
Thanks!
Take care!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If your blog is hosted here at wordpress.COM, we cannot use GA. It is javascript and javascript is not allowed here due to security concerns: http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascript .

And actually, a search of the forums for Google Analytics would have probably returned 200 hits. This is a weekly question.

@TSP
It’s my understanding that the wordpress.com stat program derives its data from Google Analytics. As only one version of the script can be allowed to to run on this multy-user blogging platform, the complete information from Google Analytics for our individual blogs is not available to us bloggers. -
@TT, new development: Per Matt in this post on the .COM blog, apparently .COM no longer uses GA: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2009/11/09/happy-birthday-firefox/ .

Good spotting – Thanks. In the last paragraph Matt says: (The statistics were tabulated from server access logs and include WordPress.com users as well as visitors, as we no longer run Google Analytics across WordPress.com.) -
I can’t take credit for the spotting, it was a hawk-eyed blogger that asked if GA was now allowed here and referenced the .COM blog post.
