google anaylitics page loading freeze

    aloha support team,

this may be a browser issue – or something else, i’m not sure… it is currently happening in the Support area where i was looking up info for another question i had. this same thing has happened at other times often enough that i’d like to know if there is something i can do to prevent it from happening.

    this is what happens:

i click a link to go to another page Or i click the go back/forward button(s) in my browser (firefox) to go to a previously loaded page.

the page loading wheel – in the window indicator area – spins. and at the bottom beneath the page i’m loading (where it will say Done when the loading is finished and the wheel stopped) it says:

    Transferring data from http://www.google-analytics.com…..

at this point the page is blank. nothing on it at all – it’s all white. the page does not finish loading. it seems to freeze here at this point – with that phrase beneath the page (at other times other than the current one, it’s remained blank for a half hour or more before i give up). i can not go back using the go back button or the forward button either one. i can skip a page or two and get to another page. but the page i was trying to load seems to be forever stuck loading that google-analytics data – even if the page had once loaded properly. sometimes it happens on a page i’m trying to load for the first time as well.

the page that seems to be stuck has changed names in the dropdown menu of the go back/forward buttons. it says:

    wyciwxg://14http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=spam+que

altho the last portion (along this line – http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=spam+que) may be different – that is one page that the problem showed up on – the first part is fairly consistent i believe. the wyciwxg part.

i can take a snapshot of my screen – or several if that would be helpful.

this problem is not exclusive to the Support area – it can and has happened on other sites altho it’s only happened for the first time on WP now, in the Support area. it has not happened on my WP blog yet, however i dont want it to happen on the blog.

any suggestions are welcome. thank you. aloha – Wrick

Try the cookie dance: Log out, clear browser cache and cookies, and restart the computer. That sometimes clears up these sorts of problems.

    This is off-topic.

thank you raincoaster. i have the browser preferences set to delete cookies after each session. however there may be more i can do to add to that, so i’ll give it a more detailed look and a try.

an additional thing that seems to happen with this issue occasionally but not every time is that along with the freeze, sometimes another browser window opens. sometimes the name of that window is google analytics and sometimes it appears as gugle or guugle analytics. it too seems to stick on that blank white page.

am i correct in thinking that this google analytics page freeze is not a common issue? and has not come up often for most people?

btw. i do try to be on topic. in this case i wasnt sure where this issue should go. i encountered it while looking through Support pages for the area i was actually interested in asking a question, or possibly making a suggestion, about regarding the spam que. …which interestingly enough seems to have suddenly, since my new topic post, jumped, considerably more than doubling in numbers.

That is certainly not a common issue. Try contacting staff directly at http://support.wordpress.com/contact

thanks again raincoaster. i did find some places where i could delete more than just the cookies. so i’m trying that dance you spoke of.

it’s not just on the WP site that it happens, so it may not really be an issue for WP that they’d need to look into… i think for now i’ll watch what happens and may be try clearing everything again a time or two if the freezing shows up again… eventually that may do the trick. i’ll at least give it a little time before contacting Support. thanks for the link, i do appreciate your thoughtfulness.
