Google and images
-
I have many images on my blog – most of them relate to posts and are helpful visible on a Google image search. However, on my ‘about me’ section, I included a photo of my parents and on the banner of my home page there is a photo of my family. I accept that these are visible when a reader is actually on my page but, for some naive reason, I hadn’t thought of them being available to the whole world on Google images, such that a viewer could track them back to my blog. Please excuse me if this is a dumb question but is there any way for me to deselect some images from being linked like this i.e. so that you can see them ONLY on my page but not as separate entities? I have been blogging just over a year but I am not, by any means, a technically adept user and so am unlikely to understand a deeply involved and technical answer but would appreciate some feedback on my ‘problem’. Cheers….
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No there is not. The only way to post images on your blog and hopefully keep them private is to make the page or post they are on “private” or “password protected” or to make the entire blog “private”.
Public – The page will be visible to everyone.
Protected – The page is protected with a password you set. Only people who have the password can view a protected page.
Private – Pages are only visible to blog Editors and Administrators. Private pages are not visible in Blog Surfer, feeds, or in any search. A page can be private without being password protected.http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/

Hi Timethief
Thank you for your reply. That’s a shame as I was at least thinking I could protect the banner on my Homepage as its not actually a post as such but I guess this open availability is not selectable :-) Never mind… thanks again…. Regards, Karen
