Google Apps

Google Apps is asking me to verify my domain (xxx.wordpress.com) and I have no idea what they are asking. If anyone has been through this process, I sure would appreciate a little help on this. Thanks.

Are you perhaps talking about the “Speed Up” tab which has suddenly appeared in our Dashboard? If you have Google Gears installed in your Browser, it’s asking your permission to allow using it, Google Gears, with your wordpress.com blog.
I’d love to know what it’s doing; prolly an announcement coming along any minute now…

WordPress 2.6 can use Google Gears, and refers to it as “Speed Up.”

Looks like that option has snuck into WordPress.com already. -
Thanks Andrew for the link. Interesting reading. Yesterday’s Dashboard showed “speed up” and today “turbo”! LOL
The odd part about it is that after giving permission for 2 of my three blogs (kof), the one that wasn’t integrated with Google Gears took for-e-ver to load in my Admin Dashboard, whereas before, it was just fine. Wonder what else we can expect. I’d love to see offline integration like some of my other Google Gears apps.

I am considering google gears thingie for wordpress. But, I have a concern which I hope somone can address. I have 2 blogs. One is just me and that won’t be a problem to put onto the speed up/turbo thing. The other one is a multi-authored blog with about 30 authors. How does having that many authors impact things?

When I try to get to my dashboard or post to my blog from my treo centro it always goes to the “gears” page and hangs up either there or when I try to select any option from there. Is there anyway I can bypass that so that I can post from my centro?
Or should I be using mo:blog?

@diamondfistwerny – no effect at all. Turbo has to be enabled blog by blog so if you have 5 blogs you have to add it 5 times. This is how Gears is designed – we have no influence over that. It is also specific to your computer, your browser in fact. (I have 3 browsers that use this domain and only Firefox has Gears).

so Mark i can have gears on just one browser and not another?
and raincoaster what’s that domain??? Statics for my blogs came up? -
Yes – only the browser that has Gears installed can use it, and then it can only work on blogs you have clicked the Turbo in your blog.
I have Turbo’d mark.wordpress.com but not faq.wordpress.com. The former is very quick to load, the latter less so. Only mark.wordpress.com is working with Gears.
Camino and Safari do not have Gears installed so the site works as it did before Gears came along. -
Well, I have managed to post from my centro using m.wordpress.com but is there anyway to turn off that gears intro page that keeps appearing, almost randomly, when I try to do things on my blog from the Centro?
Thanks

thank you both Mark and Raincoaster,
both of these features have uses for me, just needed some more of the info you gave. -
I have a question. I downloaded Gears a few weeks ago. Now I can no longer leave a comment on a blogger blog because the visual verification code no longer shows up. I also had trouble on a secure site that no longer recognizes my computer and no amount of answering the security questions will let me in. I have to use IE for both of these tasks. What is the problem?
