Google Authorship Error Messages

I set up Google+ on my WordPress site, ran it through the Structured Data Testing Tool, and it is successfully linked and ownership established.

However, these error messages appear for every blog post:

    Error: Missing required field “updated”.
    Error: Missing required hCard “author”

Anyone know what these mean and how to correct? I am the only author on the site. Is there code I should add to every post? (I’m a bit of a novice.) Thanks!

I’ve been having the same problems since I set Authorship Verification up using the ?rel=author tag. I’ve now set it up using the following method http://bit.ly/1fOtsn1 and am STILL experiencing the problem. With AuthorRank becoming such an important factor in your rank in Google Search, one would think WordPress.com would be capitalizing on this with something that works. Has anyone else out there found a workaround?
