Google Authorship Problems w/ Gravatar

  Hello, I am attempting to link my WordPress.com site with my Google+ so google will recognize me as the verified author. I have read and followed: http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-plus-profile/ but the problem is the following:
  and my google+ site shows up on my page, so the steps were followed.

  After linking my wordpress to google+ and vice versa.
  I ran the google verifier page, see results:

  The problem is that my wordpress site has the author indicated as my Gravatar user “zreid”. The verifier indicates that my site first points to my zreid user as the author, and that his immediately discounts the attempt to link sites.

  What can I do? Do I need to somehow detach/delete my Gravatar account from my WordPress? I need google+ authorship to boost possible google search results, so this is important. Thanks!!

  I will add some more information. Here is what is indicated as to why my site won’t link to my google+.

  Email verification has not established authorship for this webpage.
  Email address on the quickmeups.com domain has been verified on this profile: No
  Public contributor-to link from Google+ profile to quickmeups.com: Yes
  Automatically detected author name on webpage: Not Found.

  Cannot verify that rel=author markup has established authorship for this webpage.
  First rel=author link from webpage: http://quickmeups.com/author/zreid/
  Link (direct or indirect) from website to Google+ profile: No
  Note: The testing tool currently only checks the first rel=author link listed on a webpage for a link to a Google+ profile (http://quickmeups.com/author/zreid/). It’s possible that authorship may in fact be working for this page because of other rel=author links on the page. To verify that authorship is working on this page, please ensure the first profile listed on the site links to the appropriate Google+ profile.

  Hi Zachary,

  I want to make sure I fully understand the problem/question. Currently, it looks like your Gravatar profile is connected to the Google + profile here:

  https://plus.google.com/102886296507903341605/

  That data is also displaying in the Google authorship tools for your domain.

  Are you experiencing issues connecting your profile to via the instructions here?

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-plus-profile/

  That should clear up the issues you’re seeing on the Google authorship tool.
