Those events aren’t listed in the .ics feed that you added to the widget.
I recommend checking with Google on this.

The Thursday events show up in my personal computer’s iCal using that .ics feed.
The events are public… The calendar is public…
Any other thoughts?

I’m not seeing them in the .ics feed added to the widget, they aren’t actually in the file’s stream.
Are you sure that you have the correct one?

below is the .ics file that google gives me when is click the iCal button:
I have cut and pasted it into the widget about a dozen times. It is the same .ics link every time…

I can’t explain why it’s listed in iCal, perhaps you’re subscribed to two different .ics files, but if you open the file you’re using (and linked to earlier) in a text editor, you’ll see that there are no listings for “Thirsty Thursday” in the .ics file itself.

this is a cut and paste from the .ics file opened in text edit:

None of that is in https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/ljf1u933iikh1832ss64apkt90%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics opened in my text editor.
In total, I see 477 lines of code, neither line mentions “thirsty”, “thursday”, or “20130416T183834Z”.
I don’t know what else to say except that it’s not in https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/ljf1u933iikh1832ss64apkt90%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics and that’s why we aren’t displaying it. We can’t display what doesn’t exist.
