Google Chrome Deceptive Site Flag
-
A site (www.stationeryplus.ca) that has been on Hostgator for some time has recently been hacked (Phishing) and Chrome now displays a big red “deceptive site” flag. I tried to work with Hostgator, but they wanted $500 a year to fix the problem on their servers. The company was not happy with that and asked me to fix it. I closed the account on Hostgator and redirected the domain to a single page “site under construction” on WordPress.com (free) while we rebuilt the site there. This worked fine for most browsers, but Chrome is still maintaining the red flag page. I have been working through their search console requesting a fix. But it appears that this will take days or weeks since it isn’t possible to work directly with anyone. Not good for the company!
Does anyone have some idea how to resolve this so we can go ahead rebuilding the site on WordPress? Thanks
