Google Finds – WordPress Can’t!
-
Hi Gang
YES I did several searches first before posting this!!!!!
I think I discovered why the hit count is down.
Someone does a Google search and Google lists all the Posts!
BUT, when someone clicks on the Google link WordPress.com informs them “Sorry, we don’t have any posts here with that Tag. You may want to try one of the sites below.”Go back to Google and click on ‘cached’ and up pops all the same posts, but now they open the correct page without the error message.
Also, part of this same problem I think is when someone hits the main HOME page from Google, the page displays a 404 error code. But if they click the Permalink the error goes away and the page appears.
Also, clicking ANY of the Tags that appear on the opened screen to a Google searcher, produces the same Sorry, we don’t have message.
So my question is WHY does WordPress.com NOT recognize it’s own users Blogs, then LIE and say Sorry, we don’t have any posts here with that Tag, when OBVIOUSLY they DO.?????

Thanks Raincoaster!
I THOUGHT I was on the WordPress.com SUPPORT Forum?
By the way, I also reworded this post and reposted it under a different title when I didn’t get any responses earlier to this post.
All the common questions with numerous answers already in the FAQ’s seem to get responded to 4 to 10 times, and the kids fooling around get 50 to 90 responses each.
Serious questions go overlooked sometimes for days on end!
Guess that’s just the way it is around here!

Most here are simply volunteers and have no backend access. Using the support contact button in your dashboard or going here http://wordpress.com/contact-support/ is your the surest way to get this problem taken care of.

I these forums bloggers help bloggers. From time to time staff look in and give a hand but if you need help from staff you should submit a feedback or write them an email.
There is nothing strange about the fact that staff did not contact you. They can’t be contacted via the forums. Write a feedback or an email.

Kellemora — if you find any answers to this, please post back in this thread, because I have the same concerns about the error codes that come up when one does Google searches.

Please do. Or at least post more information here – what URL is returned by Google? What is the error code?

If you type “syphilitic felt-maker” (yeah, yeah, I know…) into the Google search box, click on the link and see what comes up.
