google fixes
-
Hi! I just got flagged by Google to fix some aspects of my wordpress site, but i honestly dont have any idea of HOW to fix these things. One flag said ‘Content wider than screen’ on 2 of my pages. And the other says ‘clickable elements too close together’ and ‘text too small’ on one page.
Please advise on HOW to fix these problems!
Thank you -
Hi!
These elements may be automated by the theme you’ve chosen, and unless you have a premium or higher account, you may be limited in what you can do to fix them. These largely seem like mobile issues, and some themes have better mobile compatibility than others. With a premium or higher account, there are a few lines of custom CSS that could ameliorate these issues, but if you don’t have need for the other features of premium, that seems excessive.
In all honesty, I think your main choices are adjusting your theme or ignoring the problems entirely. If the first problem is being caused by an image that’s too wide for certain displays, you might consider resizing that image. And if you’ve placed a lot of links close together on a page, you could consider spreading them out. Otherwise, these issues can be taken more as suggestions than imperatives, so you shouldn’t need to worry about them too much.
Perhaps someone else has other input on the matter, but I would say if you’ve looked at the pages in question and they seem readable and easy to navigate, you don’t need to do anything. I hope that’s assuring!
